ROPER — Stephen Revern “Steve” Woodley, 70, of 626 Spruill Road, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018, in his home.

Mr. Woodley was born in Chowan County on August 30, 1948, and was the son of the late Joe Thomas and Marie Phelps Woodley. Retired as a self-employed truck driver, he was a veteran of the Marine Corps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Della Woodley and by a brother, Floyd Woodley.

Surviving are his wife, Shaun King Woodley; a daughter, Sandy Woodley of Raleigh; a son, Jeff Woodley of Georgia; two step-daughters, Heather Noell of Elizabeth City, and Ali Bostwick of Roper; two step-sons, Andrew Bostwick of Hampton, VA, and Evan Bostwick of Roper; a sister, Glenda Barnes of Creswell; a brother, J.T. Woodley of Rockingham; five grandchildren, Ian and Ezra Woodley, Hunter Noell, Shane Bostwick, and Sadie Patrick; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A gathering to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, December 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Family Life Center of Philippi Church of Christ, Creswell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist medical and other related expenses.
