Lights of Love presents check to Vidant Beaufort

LIGHT SHINE: The Lights of Love Endowment Advisory Committee presented a $22,352 check to Vidant Beaufort Hospital on Monday, as part of its Lights of Love Endowment fund. The money is helping to cover this year’s funding requests from various departments of the hospital. The Lights of Love Endowment is held by the North Carolina Community Foundation and has been in place since 2008. Projects awarded funds this year include: Wellness Center — blood pressure kiosk, $5,320; Physical Therapy — equipment, $7,983; Women’s Services — supplies to support new parents and their babies, $5,489; community outreach — automated blood pressure cuffs, $1,700; medical unit — dementia cart and supplies, $1,500. The Advisory Committee includes Phil Holloman, Frank Belote, Alma Friedman, Jimmy Oakley and Chris Tkach.
