The North Carolina DOT will be closing N.C. Highway 33 E. this afternoon between Sand Hill Road and Tunstall Swamp Road until approximately 5 p.m. This is an emergency closure that has been requested by Norfolk Southern Railroad Company. They are making emergency repairs to the railroad crossing on N.C. Highway 33 between Edwards and the intersection with N.C. Highway 306 South. Detour is from N.C. 33 East to Old Sand Hills Road to Tunstall Swamp Road to N.C. Highway 306 North to N.C. Highway 33.
