Mrs. Louise Daniels Woolard, age 82, a resident of 1747 John Small Ave., Washington, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 16, 2019, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Washington, officiated by Pastor Bruce Kimbrel. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Eddie Congleton, Gene Paul Edwards, Travis Sadler, Mike Askew, Tim Askew and Andy Singleton will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Woolard was born in Beaufort County on June 22, 1936, daughter of the late Albert Daniels and Mollie Louise Guthrie Daniels. On May 20, 1955, she married Stewart Woolard, who preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 2010. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Washington and active in the children’s ministry. She was employed with the Washington Housing Authority as a housing specialist until she retired. Mrs. Woolard loved to read and put together puzzles.
She is survived by her daughter, Lucinda Woolard, of Washington; her son, Gary Woolard and wife Colleen “Tootsie,” of Elizabeth City; her grandson, Nicholas Woolard and wife Meredith, of Elizabeth City; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brother; Ellis Daniels.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Friday, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, and other times at her home.
