Sydney Elise (Asby) Sare, 59, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018.

Syd was born and raised in little Washington. Though she moved to Grand Rapids with her husband many years ago, you could still hear the accent in her voice as it rang through the halls of the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel where she worked for over 30 years. She was a shining light in so many lives. She was an overly loving mother and grandmother, a faithful friend, a hard worker and a fun-loving human being. She loved spending time at the lake with family, eating chocolate ice cream with Harper, “picking” at flea markets and spreading positivity to all who needed to hear it. We will carry her with us always.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Helen Sare; son, William Francis Sare; granddaughter, Harper Faye Sare; and her sister, Lesley May Asby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Francis Sare; mother, Helen Faye Harris Asby; her father, William (Billy) L. Asby II; her brother, William (Billy) L. Asby III; her mother-in-law, Dolores Duba Sare, and her father-in-law John Sare.
