Joyce Lucille Pryor O’Ham

Joyce Lucille Pryor O’Ham, 86, of Wilson, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, Wilson.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home, at 2704 Nash St. N., Wilson.

Joyce was born March 22, 1932, in Craven County.. She worked as a substitute instructor in CompEd at Wilson Community College for 32 years, a job she loved. Joyce was a happy wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was married to Charles B. O’Ham (Cotton) for 56 years. He preceded her in death in 2014.

She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Glenda Anderson (Benny) and Lesa Leonard (Jordan Winstead); two sons, Charles D. O’Ham Sr. (Diana Oosting) and Ben O’Ham; a daughter-in-law, Libby; 11 grandchildren, Danny Wallace, Dawn Maynard, Scott Anderson, Devin O’Ham, Lynn Bryant, Jason Leonard, Rocki Leonard, Tyler Leonard, Beth O’Ham, Ferne O’Ham, and Tyson O’Ham; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a number of much-loved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Joyce was preceded in death by two sons: Rocky P. O’Ham and Jeffrey K. O’Ham.

The O’Ham family would like to give a special thanks to the caring staff of 3HC Hospice, along with Joyce’s special neighbor, Randy Gardner.
