Mr. Lester Paul Brooks, age 63, a resident of Washington, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019, in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be officiated by Pastor Jay Martin.

Mr. Brooks was born in Beaufort County on Feb. 12, 1956, to the late Floyd Allen Brooks, Sr. and Annie Myrtle Sheppard Brooks. He served in the National Guard for 12 years. Mr. Brooks was a lineman for the City of Washington for 18 years.

Survivors include his children, Alan Brooks and wife Courtney, of Pinetown, Shanna Rice and husband Shawn, of Washington, Sarah Pinkham, of Washington; his grandchildren, Tyler Rice, Emma Rice, Brandon Brooks, Wayland Brooks, Mya Pinkham, Sage Woolard; his brother, Floyd “Bud” Brooks, Jr. and wife Tessie; three sisters, Trudy Paramore and husband Leslie, Evelyn Tetterton and husband Bernie, Elizabeth Beacham; several nieces and nephews and a son-in-love, Michael Sheppard.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the funeral hour Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory.
