Sheila “Kay” Stokes

Miss Sheila “Kay” Stokes, age 62, a resident of Chocowinity, died Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2019, at Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington, conducted by Rev. Lee Parker.
The following will serve as pallbearers: John D. Stokes, Jr., George C. Stokes, George Strickland, Josh Kordan, Samuel Strickland, and Shane Stokes.
Miss Stokes was born in Beaufort County on Dec. 20, 1956. She was the daughter of the late John David Stokes, Sr. and Atha Gray Parker. She loved music and dancing just like her Mom.
She is survived by her brothers, John David Stokes, Jr., of Bell Arthur, North Carolina, George Carlton Stokes, of Washington; and sister, Yvonne “Von” Cornelius, of Farmville.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Friday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington.
