Helping our friends and neighbors

To the Editor:

As Eagle’s Wings completes its fiscal year on June 30, we thank the good people of Beaufort County for their continued support of our mission to address hunger and food insecurity in our county. Their generous contributions this year (July 2018-June 2019) have enabled more than 3,300 unduplicated persons to be fed through our Clients’ Choice pantry on Tuesdays; 140 school children to receive weekend backpack meals; 80 medically homebound persons to receive groceries delivered to them monthly; and 78 families in the Aurora-Edward-Blounts Creek area to receive food with our satellite operation. The mobile food pantry in both Aurora and Chocowinity is also administered by us in partnership with other agencies.

This is a tremendous effort only possible because of our donors. Thank you for helping friends and neighbors through this food ministry. The people in Beaufort County continue to amaze us with their loving care for each other.

May all of our donors and volunteers be blessed as together we continue to work to alleviate hunger in Beaufort County!
