Nancy Smith King, 89, passed away on May 21, 2019, at Vidant Medical Center, Tarboro.
She was born in Le Roy, Genesee, New York. She was the daughter of Charles Austin Smith and Frances Marion Severson. Her brother Charles and sister Sally Lea have predeceased her.
She attended Allegheny College and earned her degree in 1951. Her husband was Thomas J. King, and they had two sons: Edward, of Omaha, Nebraska, and Douglas, of Jacksonville, Florida. Her wish was to be cremated and a scattering of Thomas’s and Nancy’s joint ashes will happen at a later date at a private service in Washington, NC.
