“All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players.”

This famous quote from William Shakespeare has found a true home with Arts of the Pamlico’s theatre troupe, The AOP Players. The group will hold open auditions for their upcoming show “Greater Tuna,” July 29-31, from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Palace Theatre of the historic Turnage Theatre in downtown Washington.

The show will be presented to the community as evening and matinee shows September 21-22. “Greater Tuna” is a hysterical comedy stage show about the fictitious town of Tuna, Texas, set in the early 1980s. It is the third smallest town in Texas and has a host of colorful characters that hold court on the town’s local radio station.

The original production utilized two men portraying 20 characters, both male and female. Anyone interested in auditions, simply be over the age of 17 and come prepared to read from pieces that will be provided.
