Evening Rotary welcomes former Marine One pilot

MARINE ONE: Retired U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. George Cumpston was presented by Brownie Futrell as the guest speaker at the Washington (evening) Rotary Club meeting held July 18. Cumpston had a distinguished career in the Marine Corps with a tour in Vietnam and highlighted by a tour of duty for May 1967 through June 1970 as one of the pilots of Marine One. Marine One is the call sign of any United States Marine Corps aircraft carrying the President of the United States. Cumpston served President Lyndon Johnson and President Richard Nixon. In other meeting news, Norm Koestline was presented with the past-president plaque during the meeting.
