From Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft

Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft and the Dare County Arts Council are excited to present 201 Main, an exhibition highlighting the work and achievements of Pocosin Arts’ current and past resident artists. Pocosin’s resident artists spend a year teaching community classes, hosting workshop artists, and working in the studios in Columbia, NC.

The show will focus on the work the artists have made while staying at Pocosin, and how their work has evolved since their experience. The artists represent diverse backgrounds and create individual work but are tied together by the shared experience of the studio space, exposure to visiting artists, and a year spent in beautiful Columbia, North Carolina. The exhibition will feature ceramicists, metalsmiths, painters and mixed media artists.

Pocosin Arts’ current resident artists, Zachery Lechtenberg, Taehyun Bang, Laura Casas and Lacy Ann Miller, are in the Fabrication, Metals, and Ceramics studios respectively. Their work will be on display, along with the work of previous resident artists, Gabrielle Graber, Talya Kantro, Jenn Dwyer, Amanda West, Jennifer Wells, Liz Steiner, Mark Arnold, Matt Repsher, Caitlin Cartwright, Ben Jordan, Phil Ambrose, Meaghan Gates and Pocosin’s Executive Director, Marlene True.

You will have an opportunity to meet the artists, enjoy live music, and partake in light refreshments at the Dare County Arts Council upstairs gallery on September 6th, from 6:00-8:00pm. The reception and the exhibition are free and open to the public. Artwork will be on display from August 12th to September 13th, , 2019.
