From Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft

Anticipation is building for Pocosin Arts’ 2019 Annual Benefit Auction. The festive event takes place under a big white tent on Water Street alongside the Scuppernong River, and in Pocosin’s beautiful historic Riverview building in Columbia, NC.  Pocosin Arts invites everyone to join in the celebration, which includes the opportunity to see and bid on over 100 handcrafted works of art donated by exceptional artists. Table centerpieces feature whimsical paper maché animals by Margaret Couch Cogswell and ceramic vases by master potter, Ben Owens. These and limited edition, collectible auction tumblers by Mark Arnold will be available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, Café Lachine will delight your palate while you enjoy the melodies of Quinton Parker’s acoustic guitar.

If you can’t make the event but would like to bid on artwork, please fill out the absentee bidder form through the website listed below and a Pocosin volunteer will bid for you! Businesses and individuals are also encouraged to consider becoming a sponsor. Bear, Alligator, Heron, or Turtle level sponsors receive special event recognition, marketing benefits, and our deepest gratitude.

Funds raised at the Annual Benefit Auction helps support scholarships for youth and adults and the operation of the school. Scholarship recipients benefit from two to five-day craft workshops, after-school programs, community classes, summer camps, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) programs.

Are you Traveling a distance? Pocosin Arts has lodging available in the Riverside Lodge. Private accommodations are convenient and steps away from the event. Reserve your spot, book housing, preview auction items, and for FAQ, visit www.pocosinarts.org/benefit-auction.
