Sally Sinton Bliley

Sally Sinton Bliley, 87, died peacefully at home on Friday, Aug. 9, 2019. Sally was born in New London, Connecticut, to Julia Avery Sinton and Capt. William Christopher Sinton, USCG. She had quite an adventurous childhood as her father was a Coast Guard aviator and was based at several air stations all around the U.S.
In 1954, Sally married Leo Edward Bliley Jr. and together they raised five children in Richmond, Virginia. Sally always had a house full of kids, both her own and others. After the death of her husband, Sally moved to the Shenandoah Valley where she opened The Four Daughters Antique Shop. She had a passion for picking and refurbishing antique furniture as well as gardening. She moved to Washington in 2001 to be closer to family.
Sally is predeceased by her husband, Leo, as well as a daughter, Catharine Pierce. She is survived by her children, Deborah Lloyd (Bob) of Whitepost, Virginia, Leo Edward Bliley III (Laura), of Washington, Judy Van Dorp (Hank), of Washington, and Jane Avery Bernstein, of Richmond, Virginia; as well as two brothers, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Outreach Fund. Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington is honored to serve the Bliley family.
