NEW TANKERS: The Swan Quarter Volunteer Fire Department recently took possession of two pumper tankers. The trucks were purchased from the Pittsboro Fire and Rescue Department. Both trucks, 1994 and 1996 model Freightliners, are similarly outfitted by E-ONE. Thanks to the Pittsboro Fire Department, they are mechanically sound and have their current pump certification. Many extras such as deck guns, ladders, pike poles, fire extinguishers, fittings, caps, valves, etc. came with the trucks. Once the SQVFD loads them with hoses, air packs and other equipment, they will be ready to put into service for the Swan Quarter community.  Pictured, left to right, are SQVFD Fire Chief Jeffrey Stotesberry and firefighters Gary Cahoo, Jaylon McCullor, and Mike Caton with one of the new-to-the-department trucks.
