SUPPORTING FELLOW ARTISTS: Local musician Chuck Phillips performed onstage Saturday night at the Turnage Theatre. Arts of the Pamlico hosted a Music Across the Sound benefit for Ocracoke Island artists, as the island has been closed to tourists since historic flooding from Hurricane Dorian on Sept. 6. Ocracoke artists rely on to the tourism season to support themselves. The benefit, featuring Phillips, Steve Creech Jazz Band, Beaufort County Traditional Music Association and Wayne Stoeckert and friends raised $4,300 for island artists.
