This weekend, Arts of the Pamlico’s collaboration with East Carolina University’s School of Music continues with “Hansel & Gretel” on stage. The huge production has three casts, a fabulous witch’s house and haunting fog that will drift across the stage.
Directed by Daniel Shirley, this Opera Theatre production is one you won’t want to miss! It opened on Friday night but two shows will be presented today at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and another on Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 students, $15 seniors 55 and older, and $20 general admission.
On Nov. 26, AOP Players present “A Christmas Carol” onstage at 7 p.m. Directed by Natalie Stewart of ECU’s School of Theatre & Dance, this classic is sure to warm your heart as we kick off the holiday season at the Turnage. The show is free — first come, first seated. Come early and catch the River City Ringers at 6:30 p.m. in the gallery, grab a snack and settle in for a long winter’s night onstage.
On Dec. 13, AOP hosts its first Holiday Variety Show onstage! Join us at the theatre at 7 p.m. for a showcase of talented youth and adults, highlighting events from the past year and bringing new acts to the stage. The show is free — first come, first seated.
While you’re at the Turnage, view and shop our gift shop and the handmade ornaments available this holiday season. Take in the 55th Fine Art Show works for sale in all galleries through the end of the month. Got a sweet tooth or know someone who does? Stop by our sweet shop for tasty treats and gifts from homemade chocolates and toffee to gourmet popcorn and salty sweet kettle corn!
Your donations matter and help keep the lights on and the low cost/no cost programs available to our community, and the roof overhead; an update on our next steps and roof fundraising is coming in early December. Consider a donation today and keep the arts going and growing in your community. New programs coming up in December into 2020 include paint and take pottery workshop and a hand-carved Santa face activity on Dec. 7 as part of the annual Holiday Shop, as well as a new menu of workshops in 2020 including acting, voice, screenplay writing workshops and more! To donate any time, please visit artsofthepamlico.org/donate, mail a donation, stop by or give us a call — your donation of any size is appreciated!
