It was a holly, jolly time in Belhaven Saturday morning as the town hosted its annual Christmas parade. Despite threatening weather, the spirit of the season was in the air, not just with the parade, but a variety of events scheduled for the rest of the day. This evening, seven local homes in Belhaven will open their doors to guests that evening during the Candlelight Tour of Homes, sponsored by the Belhaven Community Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are still available at the Chamber at a cost of $30.

Tomorrow, the fun continues with Toy Trains of Belhaven in the old town hall and the Belhaven Arts Council’s Festival of Trees at the Wilkinson Center. Both events are free to the public. The Toy Trains of Belhaven display will be open until 7 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The event is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon in December, with a special opening on Dec. 26.

The Festival of Trees is open until 8 p.m. tonight, from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and from noon to 8 p.m. on Dec. 16-18. The Wilkinson Center is located at 144 W. Main St., Belhaven.
