Melvin Eugene Moore

On Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, Melvin Eugene Moore completed his earthly journey, only to begin an eternal one. He left his earthly home at 1:15 a.m. at the River Trace Nursing Home in Washington, N.C.

Melvin Eugene Moore, known as “Dip,” was born in Beaufort County on Aug. 25, 1953, to Ernest P. Moore and Clarice Moore.

After attending Aurora High School, he entered into the United States Army where he served for six years.

His father, Ernest P. Moore; a sister, Lois Faye Edwards; and a brother, Donald W. Moore, preceded him in death.

Forever cherishing his memories are his mother, Clarice Moore of Aurora; one daughter, Precious Barnes, of Aurora; three grandchildren, Zion, Zi’Mori and Zi’naeh; three sisters, Mattie Moore, of Aurora, Mae Moore (Milton), of Greensboro, and Phyllis Martin, of Aurora; three brothers, Royal Moore, Ernest Moore, Jr. (Delores) and Larry Moore. all of Aurora; one aunt, Martha Bynum; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

A graveside service and interment will be held 11 a.m. Saturday Dec. 28, 2019, at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Blounts Creek. There will be a public viewing from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2019, at the New Beginning Funeral Home & Cremation. Family and friends will be received at 45 Bowen Road, Aurora.
