A car rollover involving two vehicles on Washington’s West 15th Street left two people with non-life threatening injuries Thursday afternoon.

According to Washington Police and Fire Services Director Stacy Drakeford, witnesses reported that one vehicle, a 2002 Honda driven by Pavina McCray, of Washington, was weaving in and out of traffic on 15th Street before striking the back of a 2019 Jeep driven by John Palombi, also of Washington. The impact caused McCray’s vehicle to overturn, closing down the westbound lanes of traffic on 15th Street.

According to Drakeford, both McCray and the passenger in the Jeep were transported to Vidant-Beaufort Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Drakeford said charges are pending in the wreck.

Washington Fire-Rescue-EMS and the Washington Police Department responded to the scene.
