Theodore Simeson Hinchman Sr., 89, of Washington, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2019.

Ted is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Patricia (Kelly) Hinchman; his four children, JoAnn Barrett, Ted Hinchman, Sue(Loren) Orr and Mark Hinchman; along with three stepdaughters Elizabeth Kahn, Pamela (Jeffrey) McGregor and Candace Turoski; six grandchildren, Lara, Jordan, Geoffrey, Michael, Zachary and Nicholas; and two great-grandchildren, Elliot and Ren.

Ted was respected by everyone who knew him and was loved dearly by his family. He is remembered fondly as a man who welcomed every guest with warmth and gracious manners. He will be missed.

A memorial mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, at the Mother of Mercy Catholic Church. A graveside service will follow at Pamlico Memorial Gardens.
