Mayor signs three proclamations
THREE PROCLAMATIONS: Three proclamations signed by Washington Mayor Mac Hodges this week recognized Brotherhood/Sisterhood Week, Ed Peed Day and Human Relations Council month. The purpose of Brotherhood/Sisterhood Week is to further understanding among people of all cultures and religions. Ed Peed Day recognizes Edward Peed, a firefighter with the African American Salamander Company. Peed was the first known firefighter to die in the line of duty in North Carolina. The third resolution celebrates the establishment of the Washington Human Relations Council and all of its efforts to connect the diverse peoples of Washington.
