Seen at the south jetty of Oregon Inlet, this Purple Sandpiper was feeding along the mossy rocks. Their main diet consists of snails, clams, oysters, barnacles, & insects. But they eat a wide range of gastropods, crustaceans and even seeds, depending on the season and available food.
