The Saturday Night Jamboree rang in the New Year recently at the Redmens Lodge in Washington. Registrar Kerry Parr, Kathy Lilley and Marlene Sprouse signed in 144 clients with the help of caring volunteers Marlene and Elwood Sprouse, Joyce Carawan, Martha Seighman, Tine and Jim Sadler, Kathy Lilley, Kin Wood, Kerry Parr, Frankie Walker and Michael Cutler.

DJ Kenny Beacham played music for dancing, while longtime volunteer Michael Cutler kept a close watch at the door.

Following a blessing asked by Frances Rogerson, refreshments were served by the Saturday Night Jamboree volunteers listed above, which included pizza, cookies and drinks provided by the Saturday Night Jamboree.

Elwood and Marlene and Kenny led the group in singing of “Auld Lang Syne” and the count off of the ball drop.

The next Jamboree meeting — Valentine’s Day  – A Time for Kindness — will be held at Redmens Lodge on Feb. 8, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. All mentally/physically challenged residents and all volunteers are urged to attend.

Anyone wishing to volunteer, provide music or refreshments or make contributions to the Saturday Night Jamboree, may call Jamboree President Marlene Sprouse at 252-946-4350.
