Faye Kirkman, a resident of Tyrrell County, recently completed 20 years of public service at the Tyrrell County Visitors Center. For over two decades she has been welcoming travelers with a warm smile and a wealth of information. Her extensive knowledge of local, regional, and statewide attractions has helped tourists from far and wide get the most out of their vacation.

At a dinner party given to honor Mrs. Kirkman for achieving this milestone, she was presented with the coveted Bless-Your-Heart Silver Skillet; an award given only once every 20 years to one “who exhibits an uncompromising brand of Southern hospitality.” It left her speechless…but only for a few moments!

When you’re in the area, please take a few minutes to stop by the Visitors Center and congratulate Faye. Tyrrell County is blessed with an abundance of natural resources, but it’s people like Faye Kirkman who really make this little corner of the world a truly special place to live.
