From Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft
Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft has stepped up to the challenge created by COVID-19 by launching a new online craft demonstration initiative. With Pocosin’s weekly Community Classes on pause until further notice, they hope to ignite the creative spark at home for their students or for anyone who tunes in.
Beginning on Friday, March 20, Pocosin Arts will release their first craft demonstration by ceramics instructor, Dick Heiser on the YouTube channel, “Pocosin Arts.” These videos feature demonstrations led by Pocosin Arts’ resident artists and instructors and are free and available to the public. In addition to the video launch, at-home activities suitable for children will be available on the Pocosin Arts web page: www.pocosinarts.org/online-creativety-resource
The first children’s activity is a coloring and puzzle booklet created by resident artist Zachery Lechtenberg. No special skills or supplies are necessary; however, crayons, colored pencils, paints, or other mark-making tools are helpful. To stay up to date on weekly videos and resources, please visit www.pocosinarts.org/online-creativety-resource.
