The Division of Social Services within the NC Department of Health and Human Services will temporarily issue the Resident Subsistence Unified Inland/Coastal Recreational Fishing License for DSS clients receiving benefits from Medicaid, Food and Nutrition Services, or Work First Family Assistance through their local Department of Social Services.

Please contact Carlotta Dixon at 919-825-2478 or by email at carlotta.dixon@dhhs.nc.gov to obtain fishing license until the NC response to COVID-19 is complete.

Once NC’s COVID-19 response is complete, clients may resume contacting their local DSS for their Fishing License Subsistence Waiver.
