Thadine Hopkins Cooper, 74, of Plymouth, died, Tuesday, April 21, 2020.
Mrs. Thadine was born in Tyrrell County on September 20, 1945, to the late Roy Stafford, Sr. and Catherine Blake Hopkins. She was married to Vincent Larry Cooper who preceded her in death.
She was a member of Alligood Church of God and loved spending time with her church families. She previously served as a Sunday School Teacher and piano player at the Plymouth Church of God where she recently attended. Her uplifting spirit allowed her to encourage others through her cards and letters. She enjoyed spending time with her family, singing, reading her Bible, and her time with Jesus. Her love for children allowed her to provide compassionate care to families in her in-home daycare in previous years.
A private graveside service will be held at the family plot in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Pastor Phillip Jethro will officiate.
Surviving is two sons, Vincent Cooper, Jr. and wife April of Robersonville, Matthew Cooper and wife Carley of Pinetown; three daughters, Melanie C. Wright and husband Robert of Winterville and Stephanie C. Johnston and husband Stacey of Plymouth; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and three brothers, Buddy Hopkins, Jr., and wife Liz of Columbia, Blaine Hopkins of the Gum Neck Community and Chris Hopkins and wife Connie of Columbia.
She was preceded in death by two sisters Angela Wilson and Faye Baum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Church of God Children’s Home, 3485 Orphanage Circle, Concord, NC 28027
