Virginia Margaret Hayes, 90, of Washington, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Elkins, West Virginia.

Virginia was born in Buckhannon, West Virginia. She married Osco Dale Hayes in 1948. Lt. Col. Ret. Dale Hayes, who preceded her in death, served in the U.S. Air Force for 23 years. The couple traveled extensively throughout the U.S. during his service. Following his retirement, they settled in Elkins, where Virginia worked as a clerk for Montgomery Ward and Stone-n-Thomas. She later moved to Washington to live with her daughter.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Sandi Friel and Sherri Dembinski (Walt, deceased), of Columbus, Ohio; Susan Moore and husband Archie, of Ayden; and Stephanie Harris and husband Scott, of Washington; grandchildren, Chris Dembinski, Nick Dembinski and wife Chrissy, Rhonda Marquess and husband Bob, Fran Heflin and husband JR, Tiana Harris, Shelby Harris and Jackie Moore and husband Brandon Davis; and four great-grandchildren.
