Carolyn Brickhouse Davis, 85, of Portsmouth, Va. went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 30, 2020. She was born in Columbia, Tyrrell County to the late Peach Armstrong Brickhouse and Ned Vernon Brickhouse on June 7, 1934.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Harvey Davis; daughter, Valerie L. Davis; grandson, Larry M. Moore, Jr.; brothers, Vernon Brickhouse, Joseph Thomas (J.T.) Brickhouse, Russell Brickhouse and Ronald Brickhouse.
Carolyn retired after 48 years as a school crossing guard for Portsmouth Public Schools.
She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Jane Davis Crawford; and husband, (Skip) Thomas of Chesapeake, Va.; and Elizabeth Mamie Moore of Portsmouth, Va.; one brother, Lawrence C. Brickhouse of Royal, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Tabitha, Shaun, Shelly and Tommy; seven great grandchildren, Davis, Peyton, Madyson, Thaniel, Elijah, Zachary and Maverick; and one great-great grandchild, Elizabeth; and many nieces and nephews.
A private service will be help on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Sturtevant Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Greenland Memorial Gardens.
