Suspect charged in Respess Street shooting

The Washington Police Department has arrested and charged one suspect in a robbery/shooting last week on Respess Street.
The Washington Police Department identified Christopher Clevon Freeman, of Washington, as one of three suspects in the armed robbery that took place during the early morning hours of July 6.
Two people were shot during the robbery, according to the WPD. Haywood Lee Reddick Jr., of Washington, was shot in the torso area, while Antonio Reddick, also of Washington, was struck by a weapon in the head and grazed by a bullet in the elbow
“On Monday, July 14, investigators determined Freeman was at a residence on West Ninth Street and responded to that location,” read a Tuesday press release from the WPD. “Freeman was subsequently taken into custody and is being held on a $260,000 bond on the Washington Police Department charges.”
Freeman, 28, of Washington, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a firearm into an occupied property, attempted armed robbery and injury to personal property.
His accomplices have not yet been arrested, and anyone with additional information on the case is asked to call the WPD at 252-946-1444.
