Washington man charged with drug offenses

On July 9, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Cecil Peed, 30, of 50 Yonkers Drive in Washington. Peed was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule VI controlled substance (THC edibles), possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of a schedule II controlled substance (Oxycodone) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Peed’s arrest stemmed from investigators conducting surveillance and witnessing Peed conduct a hand-to-hand drug transaction in the Chocowinity area. Investigators approached Peed and conducted a search, finding approximately 24 grams of cocaine, approximately 11 grams of marijuana, three Oxycodone pills, 15 individual packages of edible candy/food containing THC, digital scales and plastic bags used to package a controlled substance.
Peed was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.
