From Tom Pederson, Washington (noon) Rotary president, and Pam Anderson, president-elect and Smoke on the Water chairperson

To all of our community and loyal supporters of the Washington (noon) Rotary’s annual Smoke on the Water fundraising event, we regretfully announce the cancellation of this year’s event.

This was a difficult and painful decision brought on by the COVID-19 virus. Smoke on the Water has been a fundraising event that our Rotary Club has depended on to raise funds to fill many different needs, from scholarships to donations to charitable organizations of all kinds in our community for 22 years.

Smoke on the Water planning begins at the completion of the event and continues throughout the year until the following event. Even though Smoke on the Water was scheduled in October, with so much uncertainty, we cannot ask our members or our many sponsors to risk up-front commitments for this year’s event. Our highest priority is the safety of all who participate in and attend.

Our club will continue to evaluate the possibility of an early 2021 event, but for now, we ask for your understanding and patience as we all navigate these difficult times.

Feel free to contact us a washingtonnoonrotory.org if you have any questions or concerns.
