A Washington woman died from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle wreck Monday afternoon on John Small Avenue.
According to Washington Police and Fire Services Director Stacy Drakeford, Lou Ann Cameron, 79, of Washington, was making a left turn onto John Small Avenue from Avon Road when a car headed west, toward Washington, struck her vehicle.
Cameron’s car then struck a third vehicle as a result of the impact. Drakeford said she was transported by ambulance to Vidant Beaufort Hospital. Cameron died Monday evening from her injuries. Neither of the other drivers suffered injuries that required hospitalization.
The driver who struck Cameron’s vehicle, Jorge Quiroz, 29, also of Washington, was not responsible for the accident, but was charged with driving with a revoked license, according to Drakeford.
