Another COVID-19 case confirmed in Tyrrell

A total of 115 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Tyrrell County over the past five and a half months, Martin-Tyrrell-Washington District Health Director Wes Gray reported Sunday night. Two of those struck by the disease died, and 108 have recovered.
Martin County is reporting 438 confirmed cases, 11 deaths and 404 recoveries.
Washington County records 205 cases with 8 deaths and 193 recoveries.
Hyde County Health Department reported 126 confirmed cases, 5 deaths, and 120 recoveries as of Monday morning.
Health officials also report that 26.7% of North Carolina residents have been tested for the coronavirus, 24.4% of Martin County residents, 19.5% of Tyrrell’s, and 30.1% of Washington’s residents.
Statewide cases stand at 193,581 with 3,243 deaths and 167,257 recoveries. Across the U.S. there have been seven million cases, 204,118 deaths and 4.3 million recoveries. Global estimates are 31 million cases, 964,762 deaths and 22.8 million recoveries in 213 countries.
Northeastern counties each show fewer than 700 cases: Bertie, Camden, Carteret, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, Hyde, Martin, Northampton, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Tyrrell and Washington.
