The latest photo contest of the Washington Tourism Development Authority has come and gone, and the winning photos will help the organization market tourism to Washington, with safety in mind during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The theme of this season’s contest was “Mask Up Beaufort County,” and entrants were asked to submit photos of themselves wearing facemasks in their favorite Beaufort County locations.
“We were thrilled with the participation in our Mask Up Beaufort County Photo Contest,” wrote WTDA Director Erin Ruyle. “We loved everyone’s creativity, which made picking the winners extremely difficult — there were so many fantastic entries. We are very appreciative of those who participated and continue to wear their masks to keep our community and visitors safe.”
Winners were picked weekly from a variety of entries over the course of four weeks. Those selected as winners included:
Week 1 — Shae Moore
Week 2 — Carmen Folk
Week 3 — Tricia Stowe
Week 4 — William Pitt
Each winner received a $25 shop local gift card, which can be redeemed at a variety of participating businesses in the Washington area.
