Third COVID-19 death reported in Tyrrell

A third death in Tyrrell County related to the COVID-19 pandemic was reported on Sept. 24 by Martin-Tyrrell-Washington District Health Department. The victim was not identified.
Two earlier coronavirus-related deaths of county residents were men ages 62 and 31.
As of Sunday night MTW was reporting 116 confirmed cases, 113 recoveries, and three deaths for Tyrrell County.
Martin County had 468 positives, 414 recoveries, and 11 deaths.
Washington County had 209 cases, 195 recoveries, and eight deaths.
On Sept. 23 Hyde County reported a total COVID-19 case count of 127. One is an active case, 121 have recovered, and 5 are deaths. Of the 127 cases, 55 have been linked to a congregate living setting.
As of last Thursday 20.3% of Tyrrell’s population had been tested for the coronavirus, 26.1% of Martin County’s residents, and 32.9% of those in Washington County.
Health officials report 207,380 COVID-19 cases in North Carolina, 176,422 recovered, and 3,441 deaths. Across the U.S. there are 7.3 million cases, 4.5 million recoveries, and 209.,453 deaths. Globally the cases total 33 million, 24.6 million recoveries, and 1,002,137 deaths.
Among northeastern counties only Hertford and Pasquotank are reporting more than 700 total cases each.
