A Washington man was killed in a hit-and-run that happened at approximately 2:30 a.m. Thursday on Dan Taylor Road.

As of Thursday evening, authorities were still looking for the driver of what witnesses described to the N.C. Highway Patrol as a dark Chevrolet or GMC pickup truck that struck and killed Phillip Barbour, 33, while he was changing a tire. Witnesses last saw the truck heading south on Corsica Road.
