Beaufort County recorded its 83rd COVID-19-related death Saturday, as well as two new confirmed COVID-19 cases and one recovery.

The county’s total COVID-19 case count is now 4,306, and the total amount of recoveries is 4,157. Health officials know of 66 active cases among Beaufort County residents.

North Carolina reported 892 new cases and 28 COVID-19-related deaths Saturday. A total of  837,824 North Carolinians have recovered from the virus.

As of Friday, 11,180 Beaufort County residents — 23.7% of the county’s population — had been at least partially vaccinated against COVID-19. Of those 11,180 individuals, 7,215 had completed their vaccine series, which is two doses for those receiving the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines, and one dose for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
