SWAN QUARTER – Hyde County’s youth baseball and softball league is running a shoe drive fundraiser in conjunction with Angel Bins and is asking for help from the community.

The league will be collecting new and gently worn shoes from March 23, 2021 to May 1, 2021. Drop off locations will be located at Hyde County Courthouse, Martelle’s Restaurant, Hyde County State Employees Credit Union and Mattamuskeet Elementary School.

By partnering up with Angel Bins, Hyde County’s youth baseball and softball league will get paid for what they collect. These funds are going towards the design and construction of the league’s much needed future Sports Complex.

Shoes of all sizes are accepted but they must be in pairs and still in wearable condition. The drive does not accept any sort of heels, fuzzy slippers, or metal cleats.

After the drive is over, Angel Bins collects the shoes and they are sorted and cleaned, then sent to micro-entrepreneurs in developing nations which allows people to create both businesses and jobs for people in local communities. The income supports their families, and the inventory helps to shoe the communities.
