From the Town of Belhaven
With restrictions being lifted, the town of Belhaven has plans for the summer and the public is invited to attend.
Belhaven is home to the longest running 4th of July celebration in the state. This year’s event marks the 79th annual celebration. Festivities for the 4th include the Miss Independence Pageant, street dance featuring The Main Event Band, parade, vendors, and fireworks. The pageant is scheduled for June 26th. The remaining festivities will be held on July 2 and 3.
New for the summer is the Macha Music Series. The Belhaven Community Chamber of Commerce and Arts of the Pamlico have teamed up to present the monthly music series that begins on June 26. The free events will be held at the Town Docks on Water Street. Additional dates are set for July 24, August 28, and September 18.
It is only appropriate that the roaring twenties should be celebrated in 2021. That is just the plan for the Belhaven ICW Celebration that will return on Labor Day Weekend, September 3 and 4. The ICW Celebration will feature the Belhaven Breakwater BBQ Competition, vendors, Caboose Park dedication, and a waterfront concert by the Carolina Coast Band.
