Several budget workshop meetings are now complete, and the Beaufort County Board of Commissioners will work to finalize the county’s budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 during a meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night. The meeting will take place at 136 W. Second St. in Washington, and it will also be livestreamed here. All of the previous budget workshop meetings can also be viewed at that link.

Tuesday’s meeting was originally scheduled for 5 p.m., but the commissioners agreed to push the start time back at the request of Chairman Frankie Waters.

A public hearing on the budget will take place during the Boards’ regularly scheduled meeting at 5:30 p.m. on June 7.

Should the commissioners need more time to scrutinize the budget following the public hearing, a special called meeting has been scheduled for June 10.
