Mr. Jack Darwin Dunbar, age 86, a resident of N.C. 99 North, Pantego died Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home in Belhaven conducted by Minister Don Atkins. Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery, Hwy 45, Pantego.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Perry Dunbar, Craig Dunbar, Monty Dunbar, Reb Dunbar, Jason Phelps, and David Cutler.
Mr. Dunbar was born in Beaufort County on June 9, 1935. He was the son of the late William Claude Dunbar and Myrtle Ernestine Chesson Dunbar. Mr. Dunbar served in the Army and Naval Reserve. He was a retired roll finisher with Weyerhaeuser and farmer. He was a member of the River Road Church of Christ. In his spare time, Mr. Dunbar enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to yard sales, camping, gardening, and traveling.
On August 8, 1964, Mr. Dunbar married the former Toleda Ann Phelps, who survives.
Surviving with his wife are his son, Jamie Lee Dunbar, and wife Leslie of Plymouth; and two grandchildren, Jackson Dunbar and Olivia Dunbar.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dunbar was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Marie Cutler; five brothers, Ralph, Russell, Donald, Harold, and Foch Dunbar; and an infant sister.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, August 16, 2021 at Paul Funeral Home in Belhaven.
