Students from kindergarten through eighth grade will be able to enjoy activities and classes including music, pottery, theater, dance and mixed media as soon as Monday, courtesy of Arts of the Pamlico at the Historic Turnage Theatre in Washington.
“We are so excited to get this rolling,” said Heather Summers, community outreach coordinator for Arts of the Pamlico, adding that this year’s “BRAVO After School Program” is open to students from all public, private and homeschools. Sessions will be held every weekday from Aug. 23 through Dec. 17 at the theatre, where homework support will be available for students who request it. Summers added that masks will be required in order to participate in the program, which runs from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Fees for the after-school program are based on the number of days attended, with a two-day-a-week minimum for participation at the lowest of four monthly rates. Summers said some scholarships may be available for the required semester-long commitment and that payment by the week, month, or semester can be made either in person at the theatre on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or any day online.
