Robin Timothy Banks, 62, of Washington, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 surrounded by his family. Robin was born on March 18, 1959 in Beaufort County; and has remained a Beaufort County resident the majority of his life. Robin was a kind, caring, loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, brother, and father figure to others.
Robin was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Dr. Teressa Windley Banks; parents, Elbert and Patty Banks; and brother, Tracy Banks. He is survived by one son, Christopher Banks and wife Michelle; two daughters, Brittany Thompson and husband Josh and Kaitlyn Mauldin and husband Sam; three grandchildren, Lily Thompson, Oliver Thompson and Isabella Banks; six siblings, Bert Banks, Kathy Spallone, Susan Cleve, LouFaye Brown, Pat Crompton, and Brant Banks; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Robin started his career as an accountant and then quickly discovered his love for hands-on labor. He spent the last 25+ years doing home improvement projects and buying rental property. Over his career, his children developed the same passion. Robin had a work ethic like no other and even in his last days, he was still trying to find ways to work.
Like his wife, Robin was his kids’ biggest fan. You could guarantee to find Robin and Teressa cheering (and getting in trouble by using artificial noisemakers) for all three of their kids.
After a courageous battle against cancer, that was diagnosed less than 2 months after the death of his wife, Robin knew it was finally time to join her in Heaven. His children are finding peace, knowing that Robin and Teressa are finally together again.
Robin always showed a deep love for his pets. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be offered to the Beaufort County Animal Shelter, 3931 US Hwy 264 Washington, NC 27889 in honor of Robin.
The graveside service will take place at Pamlico Memorial Gardens this Friday, November 26, 2021 at 3:00pm; officiated by Jay Petty, a dear family friend. The family will receive friends following the service at the gravesite.
Services are provided by Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service and Washington Funeral & Cremation.
