Mrs. Annie Mae (Sheppard) Wynne-Usry, age 92, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021 with her son, Steve, by her side.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12 Noon Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. A funeral service will follow at 12 Noon in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory, conducted by Dr. Greg Barmer. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington.
Mrs. Usry was born in Beaufort County on April 11, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Jatha Sheppard and Lizzie Cox Sheppard. Mrs. Usry retired from the banking industry. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Washington and participated in Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Usry enjoyed caring for her family, working in her yard, maintaining her home, cooking and baking, with her chocolate pie being her family’s favorite.
Mrs. Usry is survived by her son, Steve Wynne and wife, Terri of Kansas City, MO; daughter-in-law, Heidi Wynne of Tustin, CA; four grandchildren, Zachery (Brittney) Wynne, Joshua (Heather) Wynne, Jeremy Wynne, Makena Wynne; three sisters, Shirley Sheppard Tetterton of Chesapeake, VA, Peggy Sheppard Whitford of Washington, Ellen Sheppard Ogle of Richmond, VA; two brothers, Frank (Lucy) Sheppard, J. T. Sheppard both of Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Usry was preceded in death by her husbands, Leroy Wynne, whom she was married to for over 40 years and later Ed Usry; son, Jerry Wynne and sister, Ola Sheppard Lanning.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to Developing Potential, Inc., 251 Northeast Executive Way, Suite 200, Lee’s Summitt, MO 64063 in honor of her grandson, Jeremy Wynne. D.
