A description of the show from Emile Pandolfi’s press kit:
When Emile Pandolfi takes the stage, audiences get more than an evening of beautiful music. They also get an evening of laughter and fun, as Emile’s friendly humor — honed during his time as the house pianist at the famed Comedy Store in Los Angeles — punctuates the performance. This storytelling and comedy, combined with Emile’s incredible piano artistry, make this show truly unique.
Pandolfi is, quite simply, a master of the piano. His intimate understanding of both classical and pop music allows him to pour an expansive range of emotion into his arrangements of movie themes, musicals, and standards. In his show, he’ll often include a performance by one of his heroes: Chopin, Debussy, & Rachmaninoff. His mastery of musical timing has spilled into his love of friendly comedy—he deftly moves his audience from giggles to tears, from inspiration to guffaws.
Emile has invited guest vocalist, Dana Russell, whose smile lights up the stage, to join him in performance. Her range, talent, and interpretation allow her to present touching ballads, powerful show tunes, heartbreaking torch songs, and legitimate opera within one show. Very few performers can bring complete authenticity to that range of genres and Dana is simply magnificent at it. No matter the musical style, Emile’s and Dana’s chemistry on stage is a hit with audiences everywhere.
