Hyde County may have limited resources but its community has big hearts. Hyde County Department of Social Services was able to provide presents to 64 children within the county. The Department also provided either a ham or a turkey with a goody bag to over 50 elderly citizens chosen via a random drawing. This assistance was made possible thanks in part by the generous donations from Hyde County Correctional Facility Men’s Club; Garage Band Charities; Middle Creek Farms; Quality Equipment; Williford Auto; Ocracoke Health Center; Scranton Christian Church; Old Richmond Baptist Church; Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church; Dr. Gauquie; Melvin Blount; and Lora Byrd.
