Sheriff’s office makes drug bust at local business

On 01/05/2022, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit executed a Search Warrant on Choco Tobacco House located at 3609 Hwy. 17 south in Chocowinity. Investigators seized 258 items that were hidden in a back room suspected of having THC Delta 9 that is extracted from marijuana. The items seized were a mixture of edible gummies, vape pens, vape cartridges and THC Wax.
The owner of the store, Bilal Ahmed Mohamed Mozip, 31 years of age, of 104 Taylor Place in Chocowinity was arrested and charged with two counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver THC Delta 9 a Schedule VI Controlled Substance within 1000 feet of Chocowinity Middle School.
Mozip’s arrest stemmed from Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit making purchases of THC Delta 9 wax from Mozip at the Choco Tobacco House.
Mozip was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $20,000.00 secured bond.
